The Silent Hill 2 Remake motel safe code and combination are nearby in one of the motel rooms, with a puzzle you need to solve. In fact, the code itself is an Easter egg, though not one specific to Silent Hill by any means… without spoiling, it’s not going to be much of a shock to the system when you guess what it is. But that’s besides the point; if you want to know the motel safe code for the Silent Hill 2 Remake, we’ve got the combination and a solution to the attached puzzle below.Silent Hill 2 Remake motel safe code location The motel safe code in Silent Hill 2 is 0451, a reference to the recurring safe code number that appears in numerous video games but generally began in the System Shock. Smash through the window and climb in, then squeeze through the gap in the wall to find a table with tools and the Toolbox Memo. That’s th…

Wren and Reynold are my new best friends. Or rather, Wren is, since her twin brother has just been snatched away. It’s my job to rescue him in Costume Quest, one of the sweetest, silliest, most charming games I’ve ever found on Xbox Game Pass that now has me battling enemies called Grubbins on one fateful October night. Despite its mechanical simplicity, there’s a timeless and cheeky joy about it that speaks to the very spirit of Halloween, and I couldn’t be happier to have stumbled upon Costume Quest in time for spooky season..Much as in my favorite episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the “oldest” twin Wren gains special abilities from the costumes she wears. From the Knight’s shiny armor to the Robot’s speed-walking special move, Wren’s imagination allows her to embody the strengths of these popular Halloween characters. Her mission is simple: rescue her brother from the Grubbins beyond the spooky gate, who have kidnapped Reynold for the crime of his costume resembling a giant piece of candy corn. Candy seems to be a weakness for the Grubbins, the cause of the chaos they wreak this Halloween. But as I explore the town of Auburn Pines, gathering candy and materials for new costum…

Red Dead Redemption’s map was apparently created before its PS3 version was even in development, and a new comment from a former Rockstar Games veteran may have given us some insight into why.A new DF Direct video from Digital Foundry talks about Rockstar Games’ 2010 action-adventure finally arriving on PC, but it also mentions its original development, and the work on its PS3 version apparently coming later down the line than the Xbox 360 version. Clarifying a statement on Twitter, Digital Foundry claims: “Strictly speaking, the comment from back in the day was that the map was created before a PS3 version was in development. So, not exactly ‘late in development.'”Weighing in on the same Twitter thread, former Rockstar technical director Obbe Vermeij – who left the studio in 2009, almost a full year before Red Dead Redemption’s launch – explains that working with the Xbox 360 was easier to work with compared to the PS3. He writes: “The Xbox 360 used DirectX. This means the hardware was hidden behind a layer of software. This made it easy to write for the 360. “To get good performance out of the PS3, the developer would have to get very low level. Program the graph…

Square Enix’s first stab at turning Final Fantasy into an MMO played a significant role in Discord coming to be, mainly as it gave creator Stanislav Vishnevskiy a space to chat about Final Fantasy 11.Speaking to Famitsu (thanks, Siliconera), Vishnevskiy shares that the earliest versions of Discord came about when he was in school because he wanted a space to talk to his friends about Final Fantasy 11.It wouldn’t be until he met co-founder Jason Citron when taking a job at games developer GREE, though, that Discord really took off. The pair essentially took what Vishnevskiy was using and made it available to many, many more people.Speaking about the idea behind making Discord as early as his FF11 days, Vishnevskiy acknowledges that Skype was already available but wanted something simpler that people could think of as a living room shared with friends. As ever, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Discord is indeed being used by many more people than Vishnevskiy and his Final Fantasy 11-lovin’ pals, but he remains a Final Fantasy devotee. Not only has he been playing FF11 for the past 10 years, but he’s racked up plenty of time in the critically acclaimed MMO Final Fan…

“There’s a lot you don’t know about me”, Max Caulfield says at the beginning of Life is Strange Double Exposure. She’s speaking to her friend Safi as they try to find the perfect spot to photograph in an abandoned bowling alley, but it very much feels like Max is saying it to me, too. I’ve felt equal parts excited and apprehensive about stepping into a new experience with a character I got to know so well in Don’t Nod’s Life is Strange. So many questions swirled around my mind going into Chapter 1 and 2 of the adventure. How would Deck Nine handle Max’s tumultuous past? How has the rewind power affected her since her time at Blackwell? What would it be like to fill her shoes again after so many years? Can I still resonate with her in the same way?  I’m a different person to who I was when I played the first episode of the original, and just I’ve changed and grown, so has Max. But there’s still so much about her that feels familiar, and it’s apparent right from the start that there’s a lot here that fans of the first Life is Strange will appreciate. Playing Double Exposure feels like getting reacquainted with an old friend I haven’t seen in a long time, who’s now trying to navi…

Metaphor: ReFantazio’s director has admitted that he’s not really interested or excited by any games that “look like they were designed by a bunch of people in a CEO boardroom,” which is perhaps to be expected from the mastermind behind so many distinctive JRPGs.Katsura Hashino has been at Atlus for around 30 years, and his latest director’s credit on the fantasy JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio is one of many. He was previously at the helm for Persona 3, 4, and 5, the puzzle game Catherine, and more. Speaking in a new interview with IGN, he’s spoken a little more about what games motivate and inspire him to keep developing new things himself, and it sounds like he has a great deal of admiration for fellow creatives.”I feel like if you have these super highly polished games that look like they were designed by a bunch of people in a CEO boardroom, that doesn’t really excite me – it doesn’t really interest me,” Hashino explains. “But when I see these sorts of games [which reveal a little about the people that made them], it really fills me with the motivation to keep developing.” He adds that seeing artists and creatives “had something they really wanted to say” is ultimately “w…
